1) Hook (Gōu 勾)
“Hook” refers to the aggressive grabbing and tearing of the opponent's arm with contact l. on l./r. on r.
2) Grab (Lǒu 摟)
“Grabbing“ refers to the grasping of an arm that has been grabbed with a ‘hook’ with the contact l. on r./r. on l.
3) Plucking (Cǎi 採)
“Plucking” represents the forceful tearing of the opponent's arm, which has already been brought under control with both “hooks” and “grabbing”.
4) Tying (Zhān 粘)
“Tying“ represents the establishment of contact with the opponent's arms.
5) Sticking (Nián 黏)
“Sticking” represents maintaining arm contact so that the practitioner continuously keeps the opponent's arms under control.
6) “Hanging” (Guà 掛)
“Hanging” refers to pushing up the opponent's rear arm l. to l./r. to r., which can be used to strike at the abdomen with the other hand.
7) ‘Hook’ (Diāo 刁)
The difference to 1) is that here the grasping for other body parts is also included, such as grasping around the neck or body.

Here you should stay close to your opponent and “stick” to throw your opponent with one of the 12 techniques.
